Colston's Primary School

News: Newsletters

Newsletters are usually given to children to take home on a Friday afternoon. If you would like to receive the newsletter by e-mail as well, please mail newsletter@colstons-pri.bristol.sch.uk with your child's name and class.

We'd like to apologoise to parents who have not been receiving newsletters via e-mail since last year. The company providing this service has ceased trading, but we will be using an alternative provider very soon.

NEWSLETTER 9th MAY 2008

India & Pakistan

Over the last few years, we have focussed on various parts of the world to learn more about them and celebrate the diversity of our world and our school community.

We are planning to hold this week from 16th to 20th June this year (between Yr5 and Yr6 camp).

We would be grateful for help and ideas from parents especially those with personal knowledge of India  and Pakistan. There will be a meeting in the school library from 5.15 to 6.15 on Tuesday 20th May. Please come if you can even if it is only for 15 minutes. Refreshments will be provided.

Belinda Wallace (Global Education Co-ordinator).

Instrumental Evening

Come and join us to celebrate Colston's musical achievements on Thursday 22nd May at 7pm in the school hall.

Art Week

Next meeting is on Tuesday May 13th, 8.15pm at 23 Clyde Road, telephone Lorna 9734154 or Emma 9099060, All welcome!

Secret Gardening Club

Funds are available to update the Secret Garden. Are there any professional or experienced gardeners amongst the parents who could help re-establish the pond, set up composting system and build beds for vegetable growing? If necessary funds could help pay the right person. Please contact Alyce on 07974236363 or alyce.griffith@virgin.net

Ice Cream Sales

Help needed! Ice cream sales have raised much-needed money for Colston's in previous years. We have not yet begun this year because we need help to sell ice creams after school in the playground. It takes just half and hour. Can you help? Please contact Rachel 3776720. Many thanks.

Lunchtime

We need to recruit more Lunchtimes Assistants to support and supervise play in our school playgrounds. Ideally the assistant would be available 5 days a week from  12.00 to 1.45 pm. If you are interested or know someone who might be, contact the Office for an application form.
